For heating, plumbing and electrical companies

On average, home service companies miss 48% of their calls.

Each one costs about $160 in lost work. Miss just 5 a week and that's about $3,400 every month.

On Call Pal answers every call for you, books the job into your schedule and sends emergencies to your on-call technician. We set it all up and keep it running. You just get the jobs.

Done for you. You keep your number. Nothing new to learn.

The numbers

Missed calls are missed jobs.

Every one is a customer ready to pay, and the next company is one tap away on Google.

Where these numbers come from

48%

of calls to home service companies aren't answered by a person.

45%

of home service callers looking for work book the job on that call, when someone answers.

$350

is the average repair job: $350 for heating and air, $341 for plumbing.

45% who would have booked × a $350 average job ≈ $160 per missed call. 5 missed calls a week × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months ≈ $3,400 a month. Bigger jobs, like replacements, make each missed call worth more.

Done for you

We do the work. You get the jobs.

1

More booked jobs

Callers get booked into a real open time on your schedule, not sent to voicemail.

  • Jobs booked while you're under a sink or on a roof
  • Nights and weekends covered, when calls are most urgent
  • Booked into Google Calendar or Jobber, with the address, problem and details your technician needs
  • Fits your hours, lunch break, job lengths and drive time

2

Emergencies handled

The big jobs come at the worst times. They don't go to the next company.

  • Gas smells, burst pipes, sparking outlets: safety steps first
  • Then straight to whoever is on call that night
  • Can hand each job to a free technician who does that kind of work
  • Calls from family, suppliers and your crew still come straight to you

3

Nothing for you to run

No software to learn, no scripts to write, nobody to train.

  • We set it up with you on one call and test it before it goes live
  • We read your website so it already knows your services and policies
  • Need a change? Tell us and we make it
  • A text and email summary of every booking and message (from launch)

How it works

Three steps, and every call gets answered.

Step 1

We set it up with you

Set up in minutes on one call: your hours, jobs, prices, service area and who's on call. We read your website and test it with you.

Step 2

Your calls answered for you

You choose which calls it answers: every call, just the ones you miss, or nights and weekends only. You keep your number.

Step 3

You get booked jobs

Jobs land in your calendar or scheduling software with all the details. Emergencies come straight to your on-call technician.

Try it now

Call our receptionist.

Press the call button at the bottom of your screen and pretend you're a customer of a heating and air company:

  1. "My AC stopped cooling." Book a visit.
  2. "I smell gas." Hear what it does first.
  3. "Do you have maintenance plans?" Ask it anything.

It's a demo: nothing is booked for real and no texts are sent.

Questions

What owners ask us.

Is it a person answering?

No. It's a virtual receptionist that we set up and run for your business, and it tells callers it's your virtual assistant. Customers mostly care that someone picked up straight away, understood the problem and booked them in.

What do I have to do?

Almost nothing. We set it up with you on one call, read your website, and test it before it goes live. Changed your hours, prices or who's on call? Tell us and we update it.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. You keep your number and choose which calls it takes: every call, only the ones you miss, or just nights and weekends. Calls from your family, suppliers and crew can go straight to you.

What about emergencies?

It recognises real emergencies for your trade (gas smells, burst pipes, sparking outlets, no heat in the cold), gives the caller the safety steps first, then puts them straight through to whoever is on call that night.

What if it gets something wrong?

Every call is recorded with a transcript, and you get a summary of each booking and message. It never makes up prices or promises, and when it isn't sure, it takes a message for you instead of guessing.

Does it work with my software?

It books into Google Calendar and Jobber today. Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan are coming. If you schedule on paper, we'll set you up with a free Google Calendar.

How much does it cost?

We're taking on a small number of founding shops in Los Angeles first, with setup done personally and a founding price that's locked in. Book a call and we'll go through it.
